60% Alpaca 40% Merino Wool Large Cot Blanket
The Best of Alpaca Cot Blanket is a mix of 60% Alpaca and 40% Merino wool. Luxuriously soft and lightweight, this is the perfect blanket for your baby’s sleep. Merino is the softest of sheep’s wool, and Alpaca fleece an excellent natural fibre, prized by the ancient Incas, called by them “the fibre of the gods”. Its hollow, porous, nature makes it a natural insulator, warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It will also absorb a large amount of water without feeling damp, up to 35% of their moisture. By comparison, most synthetic fiber blankets can absorb only between 2 and 3% moisture before feeling damp.
Best of Alpaca fleece is also hypoallergenic. Its porous, dry structure is repellant to Dust mites, a common cause of asthma and allergies. The addition of Merino wool allows the blanket to be washed more frequently and maintain its shape with regular use.
Care Instructions: The optimum cleaning method for Best of Alpaca Blankets is a gentle dry-cleaning. However they may be washed in a washing machine set to the Wool/Delicate setting. Drying must take place on a clothes line. NEVER tumble dry.
